Calving Live

IMG_9332 copy.jpg

Spring is one of our busiest and favourite times of year on the farm. Not only do our morning jobs become a little warmer but almost every week we welcome new life into the world.

During the Easter holidays we are expecting our herd of 20 cattle to be calving and we want to welcome you to come and watch "Calving Live". It should be an exciting time, nothing better than seeing this up close and meeting the cows and their calves first hand.

Each cow is closely monitored by Rich and Tara, watching for signs of labour and you are invited to join us. You can help Rich and Tara notice the first signs of labour and possibly see a calf be born.

Important stuff for grown-ups

Working together for a safe and relaxing visit to The River Severn Fairy Trail

  1. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The River Severn Fairy Trail is situated on a working farm with livestock in adjoining fields.

  2. Remember that you are responsible for the safety of yourself and others in your group while on the farm.

  3. Don’t forget to respect the privacy and property of others. Follow the Government’s guidance on staying safe outside your home. We advise bringing your own hand sanitiser.

  4. Do not allow your children to go ahead and separate from the group.

  5. Before you begin, agree on an emergency rendezvous point should someone become separated from your group.

  6. In the event of an accident while on the farm, do not attempt to move the casualty, please call the emergency services on 999, giving your location:

    Lime Kiln Farm,
    Hasfield,
    Gloucestershire,
    GL19 4JW.

  7. Place your litter in a bin or take it home with you.
    Have fun!
